Definition of cold rolled steel strip:

Cold rolled steel strip is classified as a flat product. Its cross section has been reduced by a minimum of 25% and the finished product is spooled into a coil.

Cold rolling of wire is a continuous deformation process run at high speed, but the temperature is kept below the recrystallisation point. The change of volume takes place mainly in the rolling direction.

Cold rolled steel strip is usually supplied with slit edges but is also available with natural mill edges (slightly curved edges).

After the material has been de-coiled and cut to length the material can also be supplied as cold rolled steel bars.
